[3]祝春兰 网络学习中自我监控的结构与影响因素[D] 上海师范大学,2011年.   英语作文介绍自己篇8   关键词:高职英语;跨文化教学;教学策略   长期以来,高职英语教学基本上是围绕语言知识进行教学,强调听、说、读、写四方面的技能,教学中多采用重视语言形式而忽视语言在实际场合运用的教学模式。因此,学生对课文中的词、句甚至对全文的理解往住只求表层意思,而不能理解其深层含义。究其原因,除了学生自身的英语语言知识有限外,主要是缺乏跨文化意识、缺少对西方国家文化知识的了解。   一、语言和文化的关系   语言和文化紧密地交织在一起。语言既是整个文化的产物或结果,又是形成并沟通文化其他成分的媒介。语言不是孤立存在的,它深深扎根于民族文化中,并且反映民族的信仰和情感,因此语言既是文化的一部分又是文化的载体,语言和文化是相互依存、密不可分的,每一种语言都与某一特定的文化相对应。因为语言是人类思维和交流的工具,语言学习的最终目的在于运用该语言进行交流和沟通,所以成功有效的语言交流不仅要求语言使用者有一定的语言知识,同时要求掌握该语言的文化背景知识。学习语言的过程也是学习文化背景知识的过程。   二、高职英语进行跨文化教学的必要性   1.文化教学是高职英语教学大纲的要求   教育部高教司2000年组织修订的《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求》教学大纲明确规定:涉外交际活动能力的训练是高职英语教学的主要目标。因此,加强听说能力的训练及加强语用能力的培养就成了高职英语教学的主要内容。而高职学生中西文化积累相对较为薄弱,需进行文化导入和文化渗透,以培养他们的文化素养和对文化的敏感性和洞察力,这样才能从根本上提高学生的英语听说能力。   2.跨文化教学是语言交际本身的需要   英语教学体系包括语言、文化和言语(即语言交际)三大教学内容。语言教学与文化教学结合得越密切,学生运用语言进行交际的能力就越强,就越不容易犯“文化错误”。文化差异造成的交际障碍是学生学习英语中的一个严重问题,主要体现在两点:(1)缺少英语交际规则和交际模式的知识;(2)不会针对不同文化背景的人进行有效交流。学生对英语语言的掌握往往仅仅停留在单词、语法等表层含意上,而对西方的文化、历史、风俗则一知半解,对中西方的文化差异也不甚了解,这就是他们之所以难以正确地使用英语进行交流的根本原因。这就要求我们在英语语言输入的同时需要进行文化输入,使学生能够在不同的场合,根据不同的对象,用合适的语言形式进行跨文化交际活动。否则,即使具备过硬的专业技术知识而没有一定的西方文化背景,一旦进入英语交流语境,学生还是会出现文化失语的症状。   三、高职英语文化教学的主要内容   高职学生学习英语的时间较少(约120课时),英语教师可将教材中涉及的可能会对学生阅读或者交际产生影响的有关的文化背景知识介绍给学生。在高职英语基础教学阶段,培养学生的跨文化意识主要包括以下方面:   1.社交往来和日常生活方面。例如:问候、致谢、称赞及其回应、致歉、介绍、邀请、约会、拜访、送礼、购物、付款、银行、打电话、禁忌语和委婉语等内容。   2.节日庆祝、风俗习惯方面。主要包括:生日、婚礼、圣诞节、新年、感恩节、万圣节、情人节等主要节庆活动及风俗习惯。   3.文学典故、词汇方面。英美文化历史悠久,文学典故较多,高职学生能掌握以下内容就可以了:伊甸园(the garden of Eden)、挪亚方舟(Noah’s ark)、特洛伊木马(the wooden horse of Troy)、潘多拉之盒、皮格马利翁(Pygmalion)、汤姆叔叔(uncle Tom),以及某些动物龙和凤(dragon and phoenix)、狗(dog)、蝙蝠(bat)和某些颜色词(blue,green,red,white,black,yellow)的不同象征意义等。   4.非语言交际方面。姿势、眼神、微笑、服饰、体距、颜色、触摸及对于时间和空间的利用等。   5.价值观念方面。学生应该对以下的概念有正确的理解:个人主义(individualism)、隐私(privacy)、实用主义(pragmatism)、乐观主义(optimism)、女权主义(feminism)等。   四、高职英语跨文化教学的策略   1.挖掘教材中的文化内涵,进行文化比较   现行的高职英语教材话题内容广泛,有不少文化背景方面的知识,涉及英语国家的历史、地理、政治、风土人情、生活方式、行为规范和价值观念等多个领域,在课堂教学中,教师可通过教材让学生了解英语国家的社会文化,且可以通过讨论、写作等多种形式进行中西文化比较。在比较中培养学生的文化敏感性,在创设的情境中感受异国文化,使他们的文化背景知识得到有效的积淀,从而提高跨文化交际的能力。以何莲珍主编的《新编实用英语》预备册第八单元“Food”为例,教师在课文导入部分可以西方人的饮食喜好为切入点,通过图片展示,让学生熟悉steak,hot dog、hamburger、pizza、French fries等典型的西方食品,并让学生列举一些典型的中餐名称,如jiaozi、spring roll、moon cake、roast duck、zongzi等,从而展开中西饮食文化对比的讨论,找出中西饮食文化的差异。另外,日常口语交际中也存在着文化因素。例如,《新标准高职高专公共英语系列教材》的《实用听说教程》第一册第一单元介绍(Introduction),教师可以补充说明:我国出版的各级英语教材中“What’s your name?”出现的频率相当高,但对于它在何种情况下使用却少有解释。实际上,英语国家的人在谈话时一般先介绍自己的名字,如“I am…”对方自然会即刻说出自己的名。即使在填写表格、面谈等场合需要问及姓名时,一般也只说“Your name,please?”或“May I know your name?”如果使用“What’s your name?”,他们将有一种被审问的感觉。介绍自己和他人也有正式场合与非正式场合之分。在会场上介绍一位来访嘉宾或重要人物时,主持人说:“It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you Professor Smith,Director of English Department.”这样的介绍既郑重又得体。在非正式场合介绍方式则随便多了,比如带朋友到家里可以这样介绍“Dad,this is Smith,my desk mate.”等。第二单元打招呼(Greetings)教师可以补充介绍:我们中国人日常打招呼习惯于问“你吃饭了吗?”。英语国家的人打招呼通常以天气、健康状况、交通、体育以及兴趣爱好为话题,特别是以天气为多。教师可介绍由于英国地处温带海洋性气候,雨水特别多,随时都会下雨,所以他们出门时特别关心天气,就像我们中国人关心温饱问题一样,总是以吃、穿来打开话题等。打招呼的表达方式主要有“Nice to meet you!”“Nice to see you!”“How are you?”等等。教师应让学生懂得它们的使用对象,以及使用时的语境。   2.利用多种教学手段,让学生吸收和体验英语文化   在教学中,充分利用电影、电视、录像、幻灯片、互联网等多种手段,能够充分激发学生学习英语文化的兴趣。例如,在学习《新编实用英语》第二册第一单元“Music”时,为了让学生体验到中西方音乐不同的魅力,教师可以运用多媒体课件给学生展示各类乐器的图片,并配以用该乐器演奏出的乐曲,还可介绍中西方一些著名音乐家的背景材料。通过声音、图像的完美结合,使学生如身临其境,弥补书本知识仅以文字为呈现方式的不足。与此同时,教师还可让学生欣赏原版英文电影“The sound of music”(音乐之声)。为使学生通过观看电影更好地体会英语国家的社会和文化,在影片开始之前可向学生介绍影片故事的时代背景。电影结束后及时组织学生对影片中的人物、内容等进行讨论和交流。再比如,《新标准高职高专公共英语系列教材》的《实用综合教程》第二册“An Empire Founded on a Mouse”,可介绍Walt Disney的动画作品及他的另一项杰作Disneyland和Disney World。在讲新课之前,教师可以布置预习任务,让学生上网查阅与课文内容相关的资料。这样学生不仅可以了解与课文内容有关的背景知识,加深对课文的理解,还扩大了自己的知识面。教师可利用网络的无限资源自己设计多媒体课件,带领学生参观Disneyland和Disney World。同时,教师还可让学生欣赏原版英文电影“Mickey Mouse and Christmas”(圣诞米奇笑哈哈),进一步熟悉Walt Disney所创造的动画形象及了解过圣诞节的习俗。   3.捕捉生活细节,介绍文化背景知识   差异化的文化是生活趣味的一部分,因此,教师在教学过程中通过捕捉生活细节,介绍文化背景知识,进行中西文化比较,就容易激发学生学习英语的兴趣,加强课程内容与学生生活以及现代社会发展的联系,引导学生主动参与,乐于探究,勇于实践。例如,我们中国人自称“龙的传人”,对龙有着至高无上的尊重,认为他们是中华民族的象征。中国的皇帝被称为“龙(dragon)”,然而,在西方有一个“打龙节”,龙被视为恶魔,被传说中的保护神杀掉了,因此用这个节日来庆贺解除灾难,感谢保护神。所以当学生描写一个人生龙活虎时,应用“He/She is full of vim and vigor.”而不是“He/She is as lively as a dragon and tiger.”。依照传统,中国人将红色视为“喜庆”、“吉祥”的象征,而白、黑两种颜色为“不吉利”的颜色。因此在重大节日或婚礼上会穿红装、挂红灯笼、贴红“喜”字。而在丧礼中,人们都会穿黑或白颜色的衣服,代表对已经过世人的哀悼。但西方人则非常喜欢白和黑这两种颜色。外国新娘则穿白色,表示圣洁。在晚会上,女性穿黑色体现高贵。但是近些年来随着西方文化的影响不断深入,中国人的一些观念也在悄悄发生转变,例如许多年轻人在自己的婚礼上也会选择披上白色的婚纱,以代表纯洁的爱情。再如,有些学生常用“peasant”来表达汉语“农民”,其实英语的“peasant”一词通常是指第三世界国家中贫困的和社会地位低下的农业劳动者,甚至含有“乡巴佬”之意。在中国的drugstore里一般仅售药剂,而在美国则可以卖食物、饮料等。再如“dog”这个词,在中国文化中常被用来形容和比喻坏人,如“走狗”、“狗仗人势”等,而在西方文化中dog却常含褒义,它象征人类忠实的朋友,甚至被视为家庭的成员,还常用来比喻人,如:a clever dog(聪明的人);a top dog(身居高位的人)等。   4.完善第二课堂,进一步拓展学生的文化背景知识   文化内容浩如烟海,而教师在课堂上讲解的内容毕竟有限,远不能满足学生的需要,因此,教师要善于引导学生充分利用课外时间来扩大了解西方文化。例如,举办英语文化专题讲座、英语竞赛、英语角和英语晚会、学唱英文歌曲、排练英语短剧等活动,以及鼓励学生多与外籍教师接触和交流,使学生直接了解西方国家的社会情况、文化生活、风土人情等。   参考文献:   [1] 胡文仲.英美文化辞典[M].北京:外语教学与研究出版社,1995. [5] 刘梨.打好语言基础,提高文化素养[C].上海:上海外语教育出版社,2001.   英语作文介绍自己篇9   关键词:创新教学;手抄报制作;教材使用   手抄报是近几年在中小学出现的一种新型文化现象。手抄报不仅要有报头设计,还要有板块设计,更得有中心内容。可以说,一份手抄报体现的是作者的综合素质。下面结合七年级上册英语“Unit 3 This is my sister”谈谈手抄报的具体运用。   “Unit 3 This is my sister”的语言目标要求是:介绍他人、确认人物。所以,课文在1A中要求“在图中找到这些人物,将单词与图中人物匹配”。学生通过看图片,学习单词,并要知道单词的对应人物。在1B中,课本要求通过结对活动轮流介绍家庭成员。以下内容围绕介绍人物展开,要求学生会读、会写、会认家庭成员,后面又设置了通过相片向别人介绍家庭成员的活动。所以,这一节课基本任务是要掌握介绍人物。   在学习这一课时,我在甲班按照常规流程讲解,发现学生学习热情不太高,甚至有的学生有点没兴趣、应付的苗头。怎么办?在乙班讲课时,我换了一种讲课方式,我先把“Unit 3 This is my sister”的1A学完,学生对各家庭成员单词的拼写和读音初步掌握。然后,我布置学生动手制作一期手抄报,内容是介绍自己的家庭成员,要求有图片。一听说制作手抄报,学生的兴趣忽然被调动起来,他们跃跃欲试。我对他们说,后半节课做不完,可以课后作为家庭作业继续完成。谁都想把自己的家人画得漂亮一些,介绍的精彩一些。但是,许多学生对自己家庭成员的绘画水平实在不敢恭维。怎么办呢?他们想了各种办法。有的把他们家的全家福贴在手抄报中央,有的用爸爸妈妈的手机把全家福照成图片再打印在设计好的方框内。可以说,一份手抄报不仅让学生动起来,而且调动了家庭成员的参与,再次拉近学生与家人的距离。可以想象,这一期手抄报质量是相当高的。   学生交回作业后,我挑选一些好的,当堂展示。作业得到展示的同学,心里美滋滋的。我又让他们当堂给大家指着手抄报上的人物逐一介绍。各家的家庭成员不一样,介绍时也各有特色。学生当时积极性挺高。这个环节完了以后,我又让学生互相对调手抄报,互相提问,给别人介绍自己的家庭成员。教材成功地得到加工和创造性使用,结果乙班的教学效果比甲班好了许多。后来,我把课堂上展示过的手抄报又张贴在教室里,学生通过交流,忽然对英语有了一种新的情感。   英语作文介绍自己篇10   一   “跨文化交际”的英语名称是“intercultural communication”或“cross-cultural communication”。它指本族语者与非本族语者之间的交际, 也指任何在语言和文化背景方面有差异的人们之间的交际。由于不同的民族所处的生态、物质、社会及宗教等环境不同, 因而各自的语言环境产生了不同的语言习惯、社会文化、风土人情等等诸语境因素。不同文化背景造成人们说话方式或习惯不尽相同。因此, 在交流中, 人们总喜欢用自己的说话方式来解释对方的话语,这就可能对对方的话语做出不准确的推论, 从而产生冲突和故障。   近年来, 随着改革开放步伐的加快, 对外交往日益频繁, 国与国之间的交流也越来越广泛, 特别是社会信息化提高, 国际互联网的开通使更多的人足不出户便涉及到跨文化交际。时代的变化和要求, 使许多语言教师对之表现出浓厚的兴趣, 研究这些跨文化交际中的故障问题, 对于我们的英语教学确实有着重大的实际意义。这是因为英语教学不仅是传授语言知识, 更重要的是培养学生的交际能力, 培养他们应用英语进行跨文化交际的能力。仅仅学会一门外语的语音、语法规则和掌握一定量的词汇并不意味着学会了这门外语能顺利地进行交际。在跨文化交际中,交际的双方若不能进入同一文化背景之中, 就容易产生不解或误解,从而使交际失败。正如托马斯(Thomas)指出摘自作者:赖招仁 龙岩师专学报 1998年9月第16卷第3期):“语法错误从表层上就能看出, 受话者很容易发现这种错误。这种错误一旦发现, 受话者便会认为说话者缺乏足够的语言知识, 因此可以谅解。语用失误却不会被象语法失误一样看待。如果一个能说一口流利外语的人出现语用失误, 他很可能会被认为缺乏礼貌或不友好。他在交际中的失误便不会被归咎于语言能力的缺乏, 而会被归咎于他的粗鲁或敌意。”九年义务教育全日制初级中学英语教学大纲明确指出:“……初级中学英语教学目的,是通过听、说、读、写的训练, 使学生获得英语基础知识和枑为交际初步运用英语的能力枒……。”为此新教材介绍了英语国家的风俗习惯和文化, 这就要求广大英语教师要把跨文化教育列入英语教学一个重要环节。   二   笔者认为现行的九年义务中学英语新教材不仅具有知识性, 而且还具有趣味性, 教材内容贴近学生的生活实际, 容易引起学生的共鸣。对于这样的好教材, 应打破传统意义上每节课只教单词、发音、语法等应付考试的教学法。打好英语的基础, 这些自然很重要。但是有了一定基础之后, 培养学生创造性的交际能力是现代英语教学所要达到的最终目的。为此, 笔者认为在中学英语课堂教学中应该采取适当的语言交际教学法。语言交际教学法的语言理论基础是它把语言看作是交际。既然语言是作为交际的一种手段, 那么教师就有责任提高学生的跨文化意识,让学生在学习语言基本知识的基础上, 学会了解所学语言国家的文化、背景、风土人情和生活方式。教师在课堂教学中, 可以进行一些“角色扮演”、“创设真实或半真实的情景”等多种形式的活动, 从而创造一种良好的学习外语的交际氛围。例如: 教材中, 打招呼的表达方式(Greetings)就有不少。“Nice to meet you!”“Nice to see you!”“How are you?”等等。教师应让学生懂得它们的使用对象, 以及使用时的时空意境。比如, 模拟这样的情景: 在外地旅游时偶然遇见一位老同学。这时, 打招呼可以用:“Hi, Mary! Nice to see you here! What a surprise!”如果学生用:“Nice to meet you!”就不够得体, 这句打招呼用语是用在初次见面时。   笔者认为教师在课堂教学中还应该指导学生注意主要的语用差异。现将教材中常见的有关跨文化交际教学的主要内容列举如下:   1. 称呼(Addressing)。称呼习惯方面中西习惯也不大一样。英语国家常把男士称Mr,女士称为Miss(未婚)或Mrs(已婚)。如果在不明对方是否已婚的情况下, 可用Ms,这是英国女权运动的产物。需要注意的是:Miss可单独用以称呼女性, Mr或Ms通常是与自己的姓名或姓连用, 而不能单独与名连用;Mrs只能与夫姓或自己的姓加夫姓连用。Sir和Madam一般既不与姓, 也不与名连用, 而是单独使用。在中国, 习惯上有“李同志”、“黄主任”、“郭校长”、“王经理”“林老师”等称呼, 在英美国家除了某些特定工作头衔, 如法官、医生、博士、教授、教士等外, 一般是直呼其名倒觉得亲切、自然。如教材中出现:Good morning,doctor,但如果搬用来称呼教师则不符合英美人士的习惯:Good morning, teacher (Teacher Lin)。   2. 介绍(Introducing)。学习介绍自己和他人, 有正式场合与非正式场合之分 。在会场上介绍一位来访嘉宾或重要人物时主持人说:“It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you Professor Wang, president of Beijing University.”这样的介绍既郑重又得体。在非正式场合介绍方式则随便多了。带朋友到家里可这样介绍──“Mum, this is Joan, my classmate,”“Joan, I'd like you to meet my family. This is my father,…”等。在介绍两人相识时, 一般要注意以下顺序: 先男后女;先少后老;先低后高;先客后主;先小姐后太太;先近后远等。   3. 关心(Showing concern).教材中有这样对话:(一个小女孩问一个老太太)Girl: How old are you? Woman: Ah, it's a secret. 汉语里可以对任何人发问:“你几岁了?”以表示关心和亲切;而在英语国家, 除了对小孩, 人们不轻易问一个成年人特别是女士或老人的年龄, 以免冒犯他人隐私权。所以在跨文化交际中要避免问以下这些问题:How old are you? Are you married? How much do you make every month? What's yourreligion? What have you been busy doing?
